Marion Walton

Marion Walton is a senior lecturer in the Centre for Film & Media Studies at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Her Ph.D. studies (Computer Science, University of Cape Town), also included a period of study at the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth, and Media in the Institute of Education, University of London. Her research in human-computer interaction suggests approaches to studying software as a new form of media, and confronts the issues of power and regulation of meaning that arise for users of software, particularly for those in marginalized contexts.
